Pace 2025 - coaches clinic & elite 20 camp

The PACE Coaches Clinic is designed to elevate coaching in Africa through education, development, and resources that go beyond the basics. At PACE, coaches will explore:

  • Advanced offensive and defensive strategies

  • Pick & roll and split action concepts

  • 5-Out and 4-Out 1-In offensive systems

  • In-game adjustments, spacing, and player development

PACE also emphasizes personal and career growth, helping coaches pursue opportunities in basketball, scouting, and leadership — aligning with our mission to equip them for success on and off the court.

The PACE Elite 20 Camp challenges the next generation of athletes to grow, compete, and prepare for future opportunities. Key features include:

  • Basketball growth & skill development at the highest level

  • Decision-making and game IQ at real-game speed

  • Scholarship opportunities abroad for top performers

  • Life lessons in teamwork, discipline, and resilience

  • Full gear packages (shoes, balls, clothing, warm-up tool kits) for every participant

PAST EVENTS

  • 2024 coaches clinic

    Building on the momentum of the previous year, the 2024 Smart Sport Foundation Coaches Clinic grew in both size and impact. Hosted in partnership with SWA Sports and Mo Arena, the two-day clinic offered NBA-level training methods, advanced player development strategies, and mentorship opportunities for coaches. With an expanded curriculum and greater reach, the 2024 clinic underscored Smart Sport Foundation’s commitment to equipping coaches with the tools to shape the next generation of Nigerian basketball talent.

  • 2023 coaches clinic

    In 2023, Smart Sport Foundation launched its first basketball coaches clinic in Nigeria, creating a platform for local coaches to grow their knowledge and sharpen their skills. The sessions focused on the fundamentals of coaching, youth player development, and building a stronger basketball culture in communities across the country. This inaugural clinic laid the foundation for a program that continues to expand and inspire.

    Abia State Basketball Classic (2020)

    Ikenna made his first basket in this local gym in Umuahia, Abia State of Nigeria. Since 2017, Ikenna has been providing Abia State basketball players with shoes and basketballs to support the sport that changed his life.
